For centuries, history has been curated in the interests of the elite.
At school, we’re taught that history is a distant sphere inhabited by a select few – Roman emperors, Tudor queens, wartime politicians – with little bearing on the lives we lead today. But that’s only one version.

ERA is an online magazine providing space for broad and accessible history, and encouraging everyone to understand political issues in the present through the struggles of the past.
More information about who we are, what we’re doing and why we’re doing it is available on the post we wrote for our launch.
